Title: Study of Monet’s Woman with a Parasol—Mme. Monet and Her Son
Artist's Statement: I have copied this work because I wanted to discover the whys and wherefores of the magnetic pull it seemed to hold over me. Whether or not it is solely in the eyes of this beholder, I was subliminaly seeing a depiction of mother and son on the upper left corner, with an aged man below that. The shadow in the foreground seems to attempt to grip at the hem of the woman's skirt. My interaction with this piece fascinates me.
